Description
A highly specialised engineering and technology company is looking for a candidate with a government security background to lead its security function. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with government security policies, safeguarding sensitive assets, and overseeing security frameworks.

You will be responsible for implementing processes and procedures where needed. Therefore, you will need experience working for an engineering company that handles complex technology.

Based in a state-of-the-art facility, you will play a key part in a role where you will be able to see the impact of your work and leave a mark on the business.

You will maintain security standards, conduct supplier audits, and ensure the organisation's security operations meet regulatory requirements. This role will cover two sites; you will be expected to travel when necessary.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a security role managing government assets, with a strong understanding of the UK Government Security Policy Framework and prior exposure to Secure by Design policies.

You should have excellent attention to detail and strong communication and organisational skills, enabling you to liaise effectively with external bodies and deliver high-level briefings.

A proactive approach to security risk management and the ability to influence will be essential to drive compliance and maintain robust security measures across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain compliance with government security policies and best practices.

  • Identify and mitigate potential security risks across the business.

  • Oversee security clearance processes and manage classified materials securely.

  • Conduct supplier security audits to ensure compliance with required standards.

  • Provide security awareness training for internal teams.

  • Work closely with relevant authorities to uphold security frameworks.

  • Support the development and enforcement of cybersecurity measures where applicable.
