A new role has opened up for a Systems Administrator with an interest—or even experience—in DevOps practices. This company designs cutting edge monitoring technology that’s deployed in sectors such as clean energy. You’d be joining a small but ambitious engineering team working on a mix of on-prem and cloud-based solutions.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in everything from managing internal infrastructure and user support, to improving build pipelines and exploring cloud technologies. The systems you manage will support both in-house developers and a growing fleet of connected devices, so there’s plenty of scope to have a real impact.
While DevOps experience isn’t essential, the team is keen to bring someone on board who’s excited by automation, scripting, and learning new tools. If you’ve worked as a traditional SysAdmin but want to move more into DevOps, this could be a great step.
Required:
- Windows and/or Linux server management
- Experience with virtualisation platforms like VMware or Hyper-V
- PowerShell or other scripting language
- General networking, firewall, and endpoint security knowledge
Desirable:
- Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms
- CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
- Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)
