Director of Engineering

An electronics company with plans for significant revenue growth seeks an Engineering Director to join its team. This newly established role focuses on driving innovation and operational excellence, leading engineering projects, and spearheading technical advancements to support the company's strategic goals.

The successful candidate will oversee Heads of Functions in Sales & Marketing, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Engineering at the site, supported by divisional functions such as Quality & Compliance, Health & Safety, and Technical. Furthermore, the sites will receive support from group central functions like HR, Finance, and IT.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to achieve growth targets, maintaining a culture of safety and engagement, and overseeing P&L for the site. The individual will provide essential business information, establish strategic relationships, and drive product development. They will ensure workforce compliance with health and safety regulations and lead all business functions. Collaboration with development teams and fostering continuous improvement are also important aspects.

The role requires a candidate with an engineering background to understand technical customer needs and company products. The candidate should be commercially and financially knowledgeable, with strong problem-solving skills, capable of building relationships and addressing issues collaboratively. Analytical skills, the ability to interpret data quickly, and offer sound solutions are essential. Excellent communication, project management experience, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams are required. P&L responsibility and experience with international customers are advantageous. The candidate should have a proven track record in implementing business strategy and working proactively with priorities. Experience with senior teams and C-suite executives, along with a strategic mindset, is key.
