Technical Manager

We are looking for a technical manager to become the hardware product champion within our client’s organisation. This role involves managing their hardware product portfolio, supporting both customers and internal teams with troubleshooting, and staying at the forefront of industry advancements to advise on new product development. The ideal candidate will have passion and expertise in hardware, particularly in fields related to telematics and CCTV, and will possess exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Product Management:- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the hardware and related software products they offer and become the go-to expert.
- Take the lead role in identifying new product opportunities and staying at the forefront of technology advancements in the sector.
Testing, Evaluation and Product Management:
- Conduct hands-on testing of CCTV systems; Digital Video Recorders (DVR, MDVR, NVR, etc.), Analogue and IP cameras, 4G Routers, and VMS software products to identify and troubleshoot faults.
- Identify market trends and new technologies/products. Recommend new products for their offerings or propose better alternatives to existing ones.
- Support the new AI development projects on hardware front through knowledge of edge computing hardware like NVDIA Jetson etc.
Technical Support and Communication:
- Manage helpdesk tickets from initiation to resolution, ensuring effective solutions through collaboration with various departments.
- Provide technical support via phone and email, assisting with fault diagnosis and general technical queries.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Passion and expertise in a hardware role, preferably in the electronics or tech industry with CCTV or networking.
- Strong ability to engage in technical conversations, challenging and questioning effectively to achieve the best outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s workload effectively.
- Proven track record in a similar role.
Knowledge and Skills:
Networking (20%): IP, DNS, FTTP, Telnet commands, VPN, 4G/5G Connectivity, Wi-FI, IoT
Hardware (40%): IP Cameras, Analogue Cameras, DVR’s (MDVR, NVR, etc.), Cables & Connectors (RJ45, XLR, etc.) Routers, GPS trackers, etc. Hardware certification compliance (R118, R46, E-marking, etc.). Edge processing (NVIDIA Jetson, etc.)
Software (40%): Video Management Systems (VMS), Cloud server deployments, Video streaming software and tools (Codecs, RTSP streaming, Video Compression)
